Overview
This 2-way system may look slender, but there’s a lot going on inside: high power handling of 700 W is achievable thanks to its dual 4″ HF neodymium planar wave drivers and four 5″ ultra-low distortion cone speakers. Also, CoRAY4 is smart: you can easily eliminate any unwanted reflections in tricky spaces, and tailor the sound for your audience from venue to venue by altering horizontal and asymmetrical coverage for greater intelligibility.
When you order CoRay, it is shipped with 120° horizontal dispersion waveguides for the high frequency section. You can order it with 60° waveguides if preferred. Alternatively, you can order the 60° waveguides in addition to the 120° (part No. 60° Horn Set). This allows you to create an asymmetric 90° coverage.
Staying with the coverage theme, it is possible to link two CoRAY4s together to create CoRAY4 Twin. This will guarantee a perfectly consistent vertical coverage of 24° with zero interference between the cabinets. You can even use the top cabinet with the 60° waveguide for longer throw to the back of the room, and the lower cabinet with 120° for wider coverage closer to the array. In this format, the output gets a 6 dB boost and narrower vertical control in the low end, extending the capabilities of the system further.
You can add further low frequency extension and low frequency pattern control by adding the CoRAY4L – low frequency extension module. This gives you rich low end and even more power, with high power handling of 700 W across the four 5″ ultra-low distortion drivers.
The CoRAY4 and its partner products are built for life on the road but if you’re specifying for a permanent installation, CoRAY4i and CoRAY4Li low frequency extension modules are available.
Versatility
The possibility to change the horizontal coverage 120°, 60° or asymmetrical 90° (60°+30°) or (30°+60°) allows precise audience coverage, reduced reflections for better intelligibility.
The asymmetrical vertical coverage focuses the sound to the listeners considerably reducing reflections from the ceiling.
Two CoRAY4s can be allied top on top as CoRAY4 Twin to create consistent symmetrical vertical coverage of 24° without interferences between the cabinets while the horizontal coverage can be modified from 120° to 60° or 120° for short throw and 60° for long throw sending more energy in the far field. In this configuration the system acoustical output will increase by 6 dB and narrow vertical control at low frequency for extending the long throw capabilities of the system.
IMPORTANT: The CoRAY4 is NOT designed to work without dedicated system controller and therefore should be used only with proper CODA Audio DSP platforms to equalize the system and will ensure limiter protection. CoRAY4 and CoRAY4L have been designed to work exclusively with CODA Audio LINUS Loudspeaker Management Amplifiers as an integrated solution for DSP, amplification, network remote control, optimal performance, protection, as well as extensive possibilities for system tuning and monitoring.
